Atiku’s Confidant Supports Tinubu’s Decision On Betta Edu’s Suspension.
Responding to the recent developments, Bwala, a staunch supporter of PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, took to Twitter on Monday to commend Tinubu for taking action against Edu in light of the corruption allegations
“Again @officialABAT is showing that when there is a credible substance in an allegation, he will act in the public interest.
He has suspended the beauty pageant minister. Give it to him,” Bwala wrote
The suspended minister faced further challenges as she was reportedly denied access to meet with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja shortly after her suspension was announced by the presidential spokesman, Ajuri Ngelale.
Simultaneously, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) extended an invitation to the minister to appear at its headquarters in Jabi, Abuja, in connection with an alleged N585 million scandal.
A reliable source within the EFCC confirmed that the agency’s Chairman, Ola Olukoyede, had recommended the minister’s suspension to facilitate a thorough investigation , The EFCC’s invitation was issued less than an hour after President Bola Tinubu declared Edu’s suspension from office, instructing the EFCC to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the financial transactions involving the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.
Tinubu directed the suspended minister to hand over to the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry and cooperate fully with the investigating authorities during the inquiry.
