World RecordJohn Obot, a Nigerian, has embarked on an attempt to break the Guinness World Record with his reading In4mationplug reports that Obot, who commenced the reading marathon on Saturday at 3 p.m. in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, South-South Nigeria, is aiming at 145hrs.The book enthusiast started by reading the Holy Bible, reading aloud from the King James version of the book of Ezra 1:1.He went further to read Civil War Child’ a 453-page book by Nestor Udoh.The reading marathon is expected to end on September 15, 2023.If his attempt is successful, Obot will surpass the current title holder for the longest reading marathon, Rysbai Isakov.In 2022, Rysbai spent 124 hours reading, and his reading marathon took place in Bursa, Turkey, from 22 to 27 September 2022.
